January 4, 2010 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
One Write Company has announced their decision to transfer ownership of Cyrano Communicator to Kiba Technologies, LLC. In the agreement, Kiba will continue to service all of the existing Cyrano customers with phone, email and web support, warranty coverage, and repairs.
One Write Company is a church offering envelope printing company located in Lancaster, Ohio. One Write developed Cyrano as a way to serve people in need - a basic goal of the company, and a driving force in their mission.
Kiba Technologies LLC, was formed by Ray Schmidt and Sue Maggi, two One Write Company employees who have been with the Cyrano project from the start. "Moving Cyrano to a separate company made sense", says Ray Schmidt, Managing Partner of Kiba. "Federal funding agencies simply didn't know what to make of a printing company that wants to provide services to people with disabilities. In the end, it made more sense to move Cyrano off on its own, in order to pursue further funding opportunities. We are excited about the new possibilities this move affords us with Cyrano, and we're confident that now is the time to move forward and let Cyrano develop on its own schedule."
